“THERE IS NO GREATER BURDEN THAN BEARING AN UNTOLD STORY INSIDE YOU.” ~MAYA ANGELOU
I believe in providing a safe and supportive environment where healing and recovery can occur. One that is honest and caring without judgment, where I can assist clients in clarifying and working toward their goals for treatment and recovery. I believe in a person-centered approach and draw on a variety of methods, modalities and approaches to create a tailored plan for each individual and situation. As a therapist, I am open, encouraging, warm, and direct. I am active in the therapeutic process, combining experience, education, creativity, and sense of humor with a down-to-earth, realistic approach to counseling.

EXPERIENCE
I have over 26 years of experience in the human service sector. I have worked in day training and habilitation programs, hospitals, schools, county social service agencies, non-profit mental health agencies, crisis mental health, forensic hospitals, and hospice organizations. I have spent the last 12 years providing psychotherapy and clinical services in, in-patient and outpatient settings. I have worked with children as young as age 5 to centenarians.
I have experience counseling clients in areas of loss and trauma, PTSD, dissociative disorders, depression, personality disorders, anxiety, attachment issues, grief and bereavement, and crisis intervention.
I was invited as a guest speaker on Out of The Shadows Podcast to discuss the topic of childhood sexual abuse. I also served as a governor appointed member of the MN Council on Disabilities and was a board member of the NASW-MN chapter.
In addition to a holistic, clinical expertise, I believe in a whole-body, mindfulness approach to working through mental health issues and work to show people how to ignite their innate creative abilities to reveal their own intuitive wisdom and become reconnected to themselves.
